General Disclaimer

The information contained on the SaskShield Home Inspections website and in our inspection reports is provided for general informational purposes only. While we strive to keep information accurate and current, SaskShield Home Inspections (a division of SaskShield Consulting Corporation) makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the information for any particular purpose.

Important: Our inspections are visual, non-invasive examinations only. They are not guarantees or warranties of the condition or future performance of the property.

Inspections Are Visual Only

SaskShield home inspections are limited to a visual examination of the readily accessible components of the property. We do not dismantle, dig, drill, or otherwise damage any part of the property or its systems during an inspection.

Areas that are concealed, inaccessible, blocked by personal belongings, or otherwise unsafe to access are excluded from the inspection and noted in the report where applicable.

Hidden Defects May Exist

Because inspections are non-invasive, hidden or latent defects may exist that are not visible or detectable at the time of the inspection. These may include, but are not limited to, defects behind walls, beneath floors, within mechanical systems, or under finished surfaces.

A home inspection is not a substitute for specialized testing, engineering analysis, or invasive evaluation.

Reports Reflect Conditions at the Time of Inspection

Inspection reports describe the condition of the property as observed on the date and time of the inspection only. Property conditions can change quickly due to weather, occupancy, repairs, renovations, or natural wear, and the report should not be relied upon as a representation of the property’s condition at any other time.

No Guarantee or Warranty

No guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied, is provided by SaskShield Home Inspections regarding the condition, quality, performance, life expectancy, or future operation of the property or any of its systems, components, or appliances.

Our service is an opinion based on a visual inspection and is not intended to be technically exhaustive.

Consult Licensed Specialists

Where the report identifies issues, deficiencies, or items requiring further evaluation, clients are strongly encouraged to retain qualified, licensed specialists for additional assessment before making decisions about purchase, sale, or repair. These may include:

  • Licensed electricians for electrical concerns
  • Licensed plumbers or gas fitters for plumbing or gas concerns
  • HVAC technicians for heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
  • Roofing contractors for roof-related items
  • Structural engineers for foundation or structural concerns
  • Environmental specialists for mould, asbestos, radon, or similar concerns

Website Information Is Educational Only

Articles, guides, checklists, and other resources published on the SaskShield website are provided for general educational purposes only. They are not professional advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for a property-specific inspection or consultation with a qualified specialist.

Always consult an appropriate professional regarding your specific property, situation, or concerns.

Professional Liability Disclaimer

SaskShield Home Inspections performs inspections in accordance with recognized industry practices and standards for residential inspection in Canada. However, an inspection is not a code compliance review, environmental assessment, structural engineering report, or insurance certification.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SaskShield’s total professional liability arising out of or relating to an inspection or report is limited to the fee paid for that inspection. SaskShield shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of property value, loss of use, loss of profits, or repair costs.

Inspection reports are prepared exclusively for the named client and may not be relied upon by any third party without the prior written consent of SaskShield Home Inspections.
